“Park Your Car Outside” Notices from electric vehicle makers. These are Lemon Law situations and you can request a buyback

My firm has seen quite a few recent “park your car outside” notices from vehicle manufacturers, particularly for electric vehicles.  The problem here is that the cars sometimes catch fire while they’re being charged in an enclosed garage, leading to a house fire.

This is of course a serious defect.  If the manufacturer tells you or advises you that the problem can be solved, of course give the manufacturer a chance to fix the car.  But I have not seen that yet—when an electric vehicle manufacturer tell customers to park their cars outside, this means that the manufacturer does not have a fix in place, and the car can catch fire while it’s being charged.

If you receive one of these notices from your vehicle’s manufacturer, please feel free to contact us.  We have had a lot of success with these cases, not only electric vehicles but also ATV’s and off-road vehicles.
